Since its founding in 1999, Xanadu Entertainment has had an impressive run as a producer of dance and film content for theater, television, film, commercials, industrials, and community performances. Xanadu has created performances for the Marin Dance Theatre, Marin Ballet, California Dance Educators Association (CDEA), Arts Educators Alliance of the Bay Area (AEABA), Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco Acting Academy, Dominican University, San Francisco State University, and many more performance venues. The organization's roster of clients includes Sesame Street, Nickelodeon, California Film Institute, San Francisco Ballet, Young Audiences, Young Imaginations, Book Passage ,San Francisco Acting Academy, Learning Annex, Youth in Arts, and the African American Arts and Cultural Complex.

 

Xanadu's cofounders, Melinda and Cynthia, are Emmy award-winning, distinguished choreographers and filmmakers. As a working member of SAG/AFTRA for over 25 years, Melinda has appeared on camera in over 65 national commercials, feature films, and industrials as well as choreographing over 20 commercials. Over the years, Cynthia has worked on 90 film projects, choreographed 14 Equity plays and produced 13 of her own children's film's that are in many collections of universities and museums. They teach dance and theater in the public schools throughout the Bay Area, and they proudly offer multiple generational classes in both dance and theater for several arts organizations. As long-time artistic staff of many nonprofit organizations, they have successfully launched multiple outreach programs in both Marin and San Francisco that are still in existence today. Melinda and Cynthia have also worked with Let’s All Dance!, CPDance, and Projectd.isfordance outreach programs to provide free performances for the community, dance education for families, and opportunities to learn many international dance forms. Having received a long list of awards and recognition, Melinda and Cynthia are recognized masters at blending music and rich ideas for all genres of performance.
